9 Volt Battery
1. Actual battery life will vary depending on the brand of battery, battery shelf life,
temperature conditions, delivery rates, and frequency of screen display, backlighting and printing.
2. The expected life of a 9 volt battery is 12 hours at 100 ml/hour, or approximately 5 days at 10 ml/day. This estimate is based on laboratory tests conducted at room temperature using a fresh battery.
3. It is recommended that a fresh 9 volt battery be kept available for replacement if
necessary.
Power Pack or AC Adapter
1. The AC adapter may be used to power the CADD Prizm Pump as an alternative to a 9-volt battery. When using the power pack or AC adapter, the pump must also contain a functional 9 volt battery as a backup. Otherwise, the pump will not start.
2. To attach the Power Pack or AC adapter, open the cover for the Power jack, line up the red mark on the Power Pack or AC adapter connecter with the red mark on the Pump. Push in until it clicks. Plug into a 3-pronged wall outlet.
3. To detach the Power Pack or AC adapter, pull the connecter back using a straight, steady motion. DO NOT twist or turn the connector.
4. See CADD, External Power Source (EPS) System manual for further instructions.
Recharging the Power Pack or AC Adapter
1. The Power Pack or AC Adapter must be refreshed every 30 days while in use.
2. Plug the AC Adapter into an AC wall outlet.
3. Press the Battery Refresh Cycle button on the face of the Power Pack and place the Power Pack on a table. The amber light will flash while the battery is discharging.
4. When the power pack is discharged the amber light stops flashing.
5. Allow the power pack to then recharge until the ready (green) indicator light
comes on. Y N
